I’ve just realised a whole month has passed, how slack of me. Nothing has changed I can asure you. Life potters on, the horses continue to make us smile and the animals are just as silly and loveable. Probably the only real difference since May is that Winter brings a crisp crunch to the 5am feeding schedule. Being back at work full time is a dark afair with necessary routine morning and night so I don’t get to see anyone in daylight till Saturday morning so weekends are very precious. I am looking forward to Summer and having light to tend to my lovelies for just that little bit longer before heading out for the day.
Apart from the home life and working, Dale and I have taken on positions with the Gatton Heavy Horse Field Day Committee and 2010 May Day Weekend preparations are starting already. Next years event is going to be fantastic as the Historical Society, the Lockyer Valley region and the Heavy Horse show will be a combined affair starting with a cracker street parade then moving into all sorts of events showcasing bygone skills, working horses and examples of how our pioneers shaped and developed the landscape we now call home. It will be awsome.
As I said, nothing really has changed, no floods, no shows, no births, no dramas… life is neat. Still, having said this of course something will now happen, it’s a bit like hanging out washing… perfectly clear skys open up with torrents of rain or bush fire smoke from nowhere sweeps through to taint the lot! Ah well it’ll give me something to write about next post won’t it… 🙂 Later
