Cooler days and little rain to speak of this season leaves us with dusty paddocks and horses pushing fence wire to the limits in an effort to reach any tendrils of green. The QLD itch still drives Rebel and Pearl to distraction and nothing we’ve tried alleviates their maddening desire to scratch off manes and tails, even rugging does little to help.

Little Zar is growing like a weed and has settled into a quiet routine. On weekends the 4 of them are in the house yard so the boys can get boisterous with their play but mum is always within reach to hide behind when the play gets too rough much to Rebel’s annoyance as he’s not about to cross mum despite being almost 2. Duchess doesn’t prance about as much as she used to being 8 months pregnant she’s more interested in eating at every opportunity.

So nothing really exciting to write about, we’ve had one frost this year so far so maybe it’s not going to be as cold as last year. Amazing when there is nothing to speak of we always mention the weather. We are off to the medieval festival at Caboolture tomorrow so this will be a wonderful day full of all manner of old world events and experiences. We may find some artists willing to demonstrate their skills at the CHHFD in 2011.

Day to day life continues without incident, well the big horses did break the pump connector valve and the grey water sewerage pipe but that’s fairly normal for weekend fix it’s we need to do as they charge about. Last week we had to re-fence a section that Rebel had forced himself through trying to reach grass on the other side and extradite Zar from inside the minis yard (no holes in the fence so not sure how he got into their yard to begin with).

The only real change is that the ducklings are almost grown now and will soon be laying.

Hope the world where you are is just as quiet and routine. Talk to you all soon.
