Deacons Gate Salazar for sale $9000 negotiable Salazar is a 6yr old 17.1hh dark bay Shire Gelding.
Zar as we call him, is a special horse for us, a thinking temperament, dreamy movement, the softest personality and a gentleman in all aspects of handling, showing in hand and under saddle. Consistently placing with years of eventing in South East QLD, and NSW being awarded Australian National Shire Horse Show, Supreme Champion Shire of 2015. Zar travels well, is observant and a quick learner, excellent under saddle, his only vice to date is that farrier hot shoe smoke scares him, but this is reducing with specific training.
We’ve shown him in hand and under saddle and consider he would be excellent in harness. Zar does suffer with QLD itch and we treat internally and externally keeping it under control and will only consider Southern/cooler climate homes. Past riders comment, riding Zar is like riding in an arm
chair, but his rider needs to be firm and consistent as he’s a big Shire horse and knows he can easily ignore the bit. Both of our riders were tall individuals and found he was very responsive on the leg. Zar was late gelded in February 2016 as he was simply shooting blanks as a stallion. Competitors were often surprised to learn, when eventing locally and interstate, that he was a stallion as he was so quiet and respectful.

Rebel is such a gentleman, bright temperament, clever thinker and very responsive no matter the task set. With outstanding movement and impeccable bloodlines this lad presents very well. He is such a calm stallion, keeping the two colts in line without a scrap or injury whilst they shared his paddock. Rebs moved to Bingara NSW and working in harness as well as servicing a host of mares each season.
BIG is probably the best description for our Kytan. He’s persistent and bold, curious and attentive even when you’d like him not to be. Black, 3 white socks and a gentle nature. His stature at 21 months old hinted he was destined to be a tank and his new owners are more than happy with this giant teddy bear who they now affectionately call, King Harold.
The cutest filly born 14/09/2013 and she’s our first grey. She’s delightful, inquizitive and so calm, she’s an old soul persona who definitely lurves a scratch all over. Now living in WA and destined to wow the show circuit over the coming years.
